When Rebekah Zammett became a carer to her eldest child at just 22, she thought she’d lost her chance to get a degree. Now, thanks to the OU carers scholarship, that dream is coming true.

Eleven students across the UK have become the first to receive Open University (OU) degrees fully-funded by Uber, with the first graduation ceremony taking place in London on Friday 22 September.

After suffering a personal trauma, Open University (OU) Law student Elizabeth Hill found solace in her studies and the inspiration for a new career. At 23, she’s now on a journey to becoming a barrister and is driven to pursue a career at the Bar so she can advocate for others.
