I started teaching as an AL in 2006, on a Business and Consumer Law module on the undergraduate law degree. I moved to the LLM when the programme was launched and have continuously taught on Business and Human Rights in every presentation. I also contribute to authoring and marking in other modules in the areas of my expertise.
I have a law degree from the University of Essex, a masters and doctorate from Kent, and a teaching qualification from Kingston. I am a full time academic and have held posts at SOAS, Kingston, Reading and Westminster. I also contribute to teaching at the University of London external programme and undertake various quality assurance tasks for UK higher education institutions. My research and publication record are focused on investment treaty arbitrations and issues to do with financial regulation and the role of central banks.
What attracted me to the OU was an interest in online education. E-learning is something that became a passion of mine, and the OU has allowed me to learn so much in developing my skills in delivering value and a quality experience to students. Since the pandemic, I have taken my knowledge to social media where I am placing resources to help students and the wider public improve their study skills. Those interested in improving their Greek cooking skills, can also find a lot of videos from me online, but don’t worry, I don’t require my OU students to demonstrate the products of that work.
What I most enjoy at the OU is the commitment shown by the students. Studying remotely requires a lot of resilience and through my OU modules I have come across some of the most committed and able students in my career.
