The Open University Law Society was created in 2010 by students aiming to bring together learners, academics, professionals and any other individuals interested in the law, to discuss its study and research.
Each month between September and June, the OULS welcomes a different guest speaker, ranging from internationally renowned academics, practitioners of the law, and sometimes figures from British politics.
The OULS launches this series for the 2022-2023 academic year with a contribution from Jeremy Corbyn MP. A former Labour Party Leader, Jeremy has been the Member of Parliament for Islington North since 1983 and an active contributor to Parliament during that time.
He will be speaking about how the role of an MP has changed during his tenure in the House of Commons.
The Open University Law Society support one another to develop legal skills and to raise the profile of Open University students in the legal sphere more widely. The Society has gone from strength to strength each year since its inception, developing its mooting provision, careers-focussed events, social gatherings and industrial partnerships.
You can join the OULS here as a member for just £5 per year.
