Law School academics contribute to BBC Ideas video 'Does it ever pay to represent yourself in court?'

Open Justice Directors Francine Ryan and Hugh McFaul together with Senior Lecturer in Law Stephanie Pywell contributed to a brand new BBC Ideas short film which is now available to view on the award-winning BBC Ideas website. 

Appearing in court without a lawyer is increasingly common - but can be a risky strategy. The short video 'Does it ever pay to represent yourself in court?' features Francine and Steph as well as Michael Olatokun, Trustee of 'Law for Life' and Lizzie Irons and Pauline Wilson from our frequent collaborative partner organisation 'Support Through Court'.

This new video supports the current BBC court drama series 'You Don't Know Me' and joins a comprehensive set of OU/BBC co-produced digital videos available on the OU playlist.
