Biography

I currently work as a Detective and I am studying part time alongside that work. My previous studies have been with the University of Portsmouth studying BSc Criminology and Criminal Justice and via distance learning I studied my MSc in Policing Policy and Leadership which I completed in 2021.

Since that time as well as my full time role I have also been an external examiner for a Criminology course and published two textbooks; Criminology and Crime Prevention (2024) and Supporting Policing students (2025).

Current Research

Halting the tide – retention within DC pathways

My study is looking at Detective recruitment. I am really passionate about bridging the gap between research and practice as well as developing the next generation of officer and detective and I hope that my study can help add to the research in this area.
