Victoria Elwell

I teach in the faculty of business and law and currently teach W211 Public Law and W250 Evidence. From October 2023 I will also be teaching on the new W321 SQE: legal system, public law and criminal litigation.

I am qualified lawyer and have worked in wills & probate in the past. I am also a fully qualified teacher and have taught law in sixth forms and at undergraduate level, for 20 plus years now.

I was drawn to teaching at the Open University because of its open access ethos as I believe that education should be available to all, no matter what background or stage in life someone is at. I was also keen to work for the OU because of the method of teaching and the opportunities it offers to develop my career.

I have been working for the OU for 6 years now and I love teaching at the OU because of the wide range of people I meet, both students and colleagues. It is a pleasure to work with people who are keen to study and enthusiastic about their education and interests. I have made several good friends through the OU, and I continue to enjoy the opportunities it gives me.
