In uncertain times, organisations do not just require unique products/services and skills, but they must also have the capability to be very flexible and be able to adapt to change quickly – in other words, they must have strategic agility.

This webinar brings together three senior experts to outline current thinking on strategic agility and its practical implications for organisational leadership and will include shared experiences of agility in both business and public sector.

Speakers

Shlomo Tarba

Prof. Shlomo Y. Tarba is a Chair (Full Professor) in Strategy & International Business at the Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham, and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences. Shlomo is a Deputy Editor-In-Chief and incoming Co-EIC of the British Journal of Management (ABS/AJG 4). He has published widely on strategic agility, ambidexterity and knowledge transfer in leading business and management journals such as Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Human Relations, British Journal of Management, California Management Review and Journal of World Business, and others. His consulting experience includes The Israeli Rubber and Plastic Industry Association, and The US–Israel Chamber of Commerce.

Stella Manzie

Dame Stella Manzie DBE has served as Chief Executive of four UK local authorities, in both urban and rural settings and as a Director General in the UK Civil Service (Scottish Government), dealing with corporate issues, justice and communities. She has also worked with local authorities with specific challenges and difficulties. She has spent time as a consultant working in Kenya, Mauritius, the Middle East and Morocco, and has been a Non–Executive Director of HM Treasury. Stella has a track record of effective change management and performance improvement to achieve strong governance and customer focused service delivery. She has a particular interest in management and workforce issues. Stella is a Visiting Fellow of The Open University, the Chair of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire and a Trustee of the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.

Phil Atherton

Phil Atherton is the Group Sales and Marketing Director at Portmeirion Group PLC, responsible for global sales and marketing excluding the US. The company designs, manufactures and distributes 6 premium brands to retailers and distributors throughout the world in over 74 Countries. Phil’s career as a business leader spans over 30 years. Before joining the group, Phil was previously the Sales and Marketing Director of the Home Textiles division of the John Cotton Group Limited. He also spent twelve years in the drinks industry working in a number of commercial roles with Remy & Associates (UK) Limited, The Gaymer Group Limited and Allied Domecq PLC where he gained extensive experience of working with premium brands.
