LERN event

The Open University Law School and the Legal Education Research Network (LERN) are holding a joint one day conference giving participants the opportunity to explore the current and potential opportunities and challenges facing legal education.

The conference will feature keynote speakers Fiona Cownie (Keele University), Nicky Priaulx (Cardiff University) and Andy Unger (LSBU).

It will also include a plenary panel and a number of streams covering a diverse and exciting range of topics and formats, including:

  • exploring assessment on the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE)
  • clinical legal education
  • the role of Citizens Advice
  • law student wellbeing
  • values and ethics in legal education
  • the use of digital technologies

Tickets are £50 (£25 for students) including lunch and refreshments.

LERN is a community of scholars concerned to promote, support and inform all aspects of legal education research. One of its core aims is to support researchers, through a range of activities, including through its members providing advice and support for each other, such as by suggesting useful source materials, reading draft questionnaires, piloting them and looking over interview schedules. Visit the LERN website for more details.
