At the OU I teach Family Law (W230) and European Union Law (W330). I also work as a solicitor for one of the top UK firms (residential conveyancing). I was called to the Bar (The Honourable Society of Middle Temple) in 2014 and became a member of the Law Society (solicitor) in 2022. I read law at the University of Essex and obtained two postgraduate diplomas (barrister and solicitor) from BPP University London and graduated with an LLM in Professional Legal Practice from the same institution. Between 2014-2017 I was employed at the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in London working at the Legal and Care Proceedings Departments taking care of matters of Polish minors taken into social care in the UK. I am also an accredited civil and commercial mediator and an accredited international mediation advocate. I obtained a PhD in Law at the University of Gdansk, Poland in 2020. My research interests include private international law, family law, employment law as well as EU law and Brexit.

Teaching at the OU was always my first choice. I can be involved in academia whilst practicing law at the same time. I enjoy the fact that I can teach students from different backgrounds, especially that this also sometimes poses a challenge and allows my skills to be developed. The fact that I also have students living in different countries makes my lectures more interesting as we also discuss legal issues from a comparative perspective.
