Matt's main research interest is the relatedness of time, space, and memory to questions of law and politics. His doctoral research explored the nexus between memory, identity, and law, in the context of Anzac Day commemorative practices in Australia. Further interests include the performativity of law; associational democracy; and, the use of Actor-network theory in legal, political, and historical work.
Before joining the OU in 2014, Matt was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Kent (2011-14) and an hourly paid lecturer at Kingston University (2010-11). Teaching interests include real property law, public law, and legal & political theory.
