Dr Olga Jurasz, a Senior Lecturer in Law from the OU Law School, has been awarded a prestigious British Academy Rising Star Engagement Award (BARSEA).
These awards are made to distinguished early career academics to enable engagement in career development through interdisciplinary projects. The near £15,000 funding will enable Olga to actively engage in the work of the British Academy to enhance her skills through organising events, training and mentoring activities.
Olga will be working on a project entitled ‘Making international law work for women post-conflict: new voices’. This seeks to address the multifaceted challenges facing women in post-conflict situations and to explore ways in which international law can be put to work to effectively assist women and secure their rights in the aftermath of contemporary conflicts.
