The book assesses the current state of the law in this area and calls for reform of the law to ensure equality of participation online.

We invite you to join us for the evening, which will start with a brief presentation of the book followed by short remarks (3-5 min) by other panellists, after which we will move to a wide-ranging discussion with the audience.

The panel will consider the pressing issues concerning abusive behaviours online - particularly those involving a gender dimension, looking forward to the forthcoming reviews of hate crime legislation.

At the close of the panel, we hope to continue discussions over drinks and light snacks.

Speakers include:

  • Dr Kim Barker (Stirling Law School)
  • Dr Olga Jurasz (Open University Law School)
  • Ruth Maguire MSP
  • Emma Ritch (Engender)
  • Adam Ramsay (openDemocracy)
  • Dr. Micheál Ó Floinn (School of Law, University of Glasgow)

Tickets for this event are free, but we ask that you register for the event here.  Please note places are limited.
